2 FinalLooks ready for play except, the new greens need more time to really be ready. It takes time for the grass to establish the structure necessary to withstand the rigors of play. The current cutting height is at .174 with the goal of getting to .130 to .135. The root structure of the greens are at 5" to 7" in depth. September 24th is the projected opening day.

Aesthetic Changes If you have been on the golf course in March you may have noticed fluorescent orange paint in the bunkers. These are aesthetic changes to the bunkers suggested by our golf course architect Cary Bickler. This is a before and after of the 10th green and bunkers that illustrates the changes.

Mowing the new greensWe started to mow the new greens 3 times a week starting around April 11th. If you take a close look at the new greens you might see a few bare spots. Michael has assured us all that some of the spots are just late in germinating, and for the few areas that need more seed, we have a tool for that!
